A-Dream Pomskies, one of just a few judging kennels selected by the IPA (International Pomsky Association) to judge the first Pomsky Dog Show. We were honored to judge the second show as well. We also shown our dogs at the third show known as Pomskyfest. We strive for not only our own kennel's success, but the success of the Pomsky as we move forward to create a new breed. Breeding dogs that are screened for health issues and possess only the calmest and kindest natures is imperative to the success of the Pomsky. Many of our pomsky puppies are going to homes where they will not only be a pet, but a true service animal. The pomsky is known for it's extreme intelligence. Many of our owners state that they feel their dogs can tell what they are thinking. This makes them the perfect breed when helping their owners in their day to day lives. We take our obligation to this breed seriously and do our very best in every way, each day, for this breed. Our greatest goal is to someday making the Pomsky a globally recognized breed.
Becoming a breed, what does this mean?
There are many requirements to fullfil when moving forward to become a breed. One of these requirements is to have three, or more breeds in the mix to move forward. Many breeders have chosen to work together with a few selected breeds to see what works best. These breeds are the American Eskimo Dog and the German Spitz. In addition to these breeds there is an allowance for up to 15% other breeds are allowed so breeders may try other breeds to improve, or add to this breed without taking away the look and good attributes we love about this little husky looking dog we have grown to love and cherish. Researching the history of how other breeds were created will be the guidelines we will use moving forward. Rest assured that while we are regularly trying to evolve our breed we will always stick to the greatest percentages of the dog being Husky and Pomeranian in homage to our roots, the Pomsky. This breed has crossed continents, states, and has taken us to France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This brilliant wonderful little dog deserves a place next to the other amazing breeds created over the centuries by people just like you and me who seen something beyond great in their dogs.
